With around 13,500 students, thereof around 1,700 international students, Fachhochschule Dortmund – University of Applied Sciences and Arts is one of the ten largest universities of applied sciences in Germany. Around 70 study programs provide an application-oriented education, offering Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Studies and Social Sciences as well as Architecture and Design. Students receive individualised support through tutoring and mentoring programs.

Fachhochschule Dortmund provides high-quality higher education on an international campus and welcomes students from all over the world. Established international partnerships enable students to acquire global skills. Numerous research and transfer projects create direct access to local companies. Dortmund is the largest city in the Ruhr area, a metropolitan region in the heart of Europe with 5 million inhabitants. It is a modern and cosmopolitan city and home to the world-famous football club Borussia Dortmund. A city that was once world-renowned for steel, coal and beer has transformed into a center for innovative technology and cultural and sporting excellence. B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering


Mechanical engineering encompasses the construction and operation of equipment and machinery for various applications. In our mechanical engineering faculty, the areas of application range from buildings to vehicles to power plants and production facilities. Our study programs are practice-oriented and tailored to the needs of the industry.

B.Sc. in Computer Science


In one of the largest computer science faculties in the federal state North Rhine-Westphalia, we offer practice-oriented education for prospective designers of the future with intensive support, well-connected technical infrastructure, and modern laboratories.

B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering


Students receive practice-oriented teaching that provides the necessary knowledge for the engineering profession applying future-oriented technologies considering economic and ecological aspects. The focus lies on sustainable use of energy and resources in both study and research.

B.Sc. in Information Technology


The program offers qualified student education in the areas of artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, data analysis, augmented reality, virtual reality and human-computer interaction for the technical challenges of society. From the beginning, students are involved in practical projects and have the opportunity to specialize in specific areas of study.

After completion of your Bachelor’s Degree at our university, you will also be able to study one of the respective consecutive Master’s programs.
